The Department of Social and Political Science studies the dynamics of Turkish and world politics besides the socio-historical and comparative analysis of the social and political structures. By doing so, the students would acquire the necessary sociological, historical, political and methodological knowledge and the required skills in order to follow and analyze the social and political developments in local, national and global level. The prominent study fields of this department could be defined as political sociology, Turkish political life, socio-economic structure of Turkish society, theories democracy and civil society as well as the historical development of both.
